Misses clothing is sized in even number (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, etc).  Even though both Junior and Misses have size zeros, the Junior size 0 will be slightly smaller than a Misses size 0 and have the overall straighter cut.  As we get older gravity does us no favors and our bust is lower on our frames.  Misses clothes accommodate a lower bust line, not to say a sagging bust, just lower.  Misses are cut for more curved shape, at the bust and hips.  The in seam for pants is slightly longer than Juniors to accommodate more tush, hips, and just more contour.

Juniors are sized in odd numbers ( 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, etc) and are cut straight, much like a bigger Children's size with fewer cartoons as embellishment.  Much like Children's clothing the fabric and designs are cheap for a less expensive price tag.  Junior's clothing is designed for girls "growing into" their bodies.  Hips will widen are the body matures, so Junior's clothing is for a more narrow hip and slim silhouette.  Basically, when going up a size in Juniors and parts still seems strained at the bust and/or hips, it is time to move up to Misses.

Petite sizes are very close to Misses, just a bit shorter.  These are identified as even number sizes with a P (2P, 4P, 6P, etc).  Petite clothes are cut with shorter sleeves and hem than the same size Misses.  The cut for the hips is also shorter, so that the placement of the curve for hips is actually at the petite hip, rather than lower (longer).  Women 5'4″ will usually find a better fit in the Petite section.  However, there are some women over 5'4″ that have a long-waist meaning that most of their height is torso and may only need a petite pant or skirt.  While many women with a short-waist may typically need petite tops, they may also wear petite pants.

PGM Petite Dress Forms are custom made items.

How to measure Junior Body and Bra
How to measure your Junior Body and Bra

  1. Waist:
This is usually part of your torso, a good way to find your waist point is to tie a string around the waist,
not to tightly, move it around a little and the string should naturally sit on your waist.
  2. Under Bust:
This measurement should be taken around the rib cage directly under the bust.
  3. Bust:
Take this measurement around the fullest part of the bust by passing the tape around your back and
across the front to the nipples in a straight line.
  4. Over Bust:
Take this measurement exactly 1inch above where you took the bust measurement.
  5. Top Hip:
This is usually around where the top of the hip bone is and across the fullest part of the stomach.
  6. Lower Hip:
This is usually the fuller part of the hips which is fairly low down under the hip bone.
  7. Waist to Bust:
Holding the top of the tape measure at the fullest point of the bust, letting it hang downwards to
the waist this measurement is needed.
  8. Waist to Under Bust:
Measure the vertical distance between the waist and the under side of the bust.
  9. Waist to Top Hip:
The straight measurement from the side of the waist to the top of the hip bone.
  10. Waist to Lower Hip:
Measure from the side of your waist down to the lower side of the hip bone.
  11. Waist to Under Arm:
Measure from your under arm where you would like the corset to fit the waist.
  12. Shoulder Straps:
Measure nipple point to half way across the shoulder for strap lengths.
